Andrés Méndez Barco has joined Event Store as Chief Information Security Officer

We are delighted that Andrés Méndez Barco has joined Event Store as Chief Information Security Officer. Described by his peers as a “passionate, experienced and visionary individual who is always striving to improve himself”, Andrés is one of the few individuals that has done almost all in the cybersecurity arena, from founding one of the first IT Security companies in Spain to managing a cybersecurity consultancy team across the world as well as teaching for highly reputed institutions such as Spanish National Cryptology Centre (CCN-CERT).

As a top cybersecurity expert with a strong technical background and deep knowledge of penetration testing, security architectures, risk analysis, business continuity planning and compliance, Andrés has provided security consultancy, advice and guidance to large government and private organisations in the last 22 years.

Andrés holds a degree in Computer Systems Administration (HNC), together with Master’s in Digital Business and multiple cyber security certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, SSCP, C|CISO, C|EH, ISO 27001 LA, GWAPT, GDSA, PCI ASV, etc.

Andrés said: “Having spent my whole career guiding and supporting companies on their cybersecurity requirements and plans, it’s a great opportunity to be able to build the cybersecurity strategy of Event Store from the beginning till the end. I’m very proud to be part of this great team with such a disruptive product!”

With Andrés as our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Event Store demonstrates its commitment to making sure all products and services created and supported by Event Store meet and exceed international standards.
