Engineering Team Lead, Hayley Campbell, talks with Yves about the latest release for EventStoreDB, v21.10. Our newest Long-Term Support (LTS) version, which we will support until the end of 2023.
Hayley and Yves discuss the differences between the two LTS versions, 20.10 and 21.10, and the interim versions. There were lots of changes in the 20.10 LTS version that were primarily performance upgrades. For 21.10 one of the most significant improvements was the utilization of Bloom filters to search for streams that do not exist.
They also discuss the path for upgrading from LTS to LTS. There is a non-destructive upgrade path from 20.10 to 21.10. They also recommend upgrading from version 5, which will be out of support from December 2021. If you’re using any interim versions (any version ending in .2 or .6) you also need to upgrade to the latest version. Reach out to us if you have any concerns or queries, and we will be happy to help.
Some of the big changes are also covered, including batch appends, projections, the ARM64 support, and much more. Watch the video to learn more about EventStoreDB 21.10.
